The leaves and seeds of the maple tree, which have fallen to the ground in the fall, appear frozen behind the glass panes of these cubes. The word SCHWEBEND (FLOATING) at the center of the installation forms a contrast to this impression. The cubes contain only individual syllables of this word – one SCH, one WEB, one END. Reading the syllables as words in their own right creates new possibilities for interpretation: What could SCH possibly mean? With WEB, most people probably think of the www. And END could be read as the English word for end. The work is designed as a combination of nine cubes in total. The word SCHWEBEND is located in the outer eight cubes and can be read “all around”, so to speak, whereby variations and possible interpretations arise.
